Emily Schmid leads brand storytelling for Walmart Today, the company’s digital magazine and its related social media channels. A former journalist with 13 years of reporting, marketing and PR experience, she also provides editorial direction for Walmart’s Outside the Box podcast, and leads creative strategy for the company’s online newsroom and corporate website. Emily joined Walmart in 2012 as a writer supporting executive teams, after working as a copywriter for three years at a retail marketing agency and four years in creative marketing at Sam’s Club. She began her career as a features reporter and loves putting those skills to use in finding and sharing stories on behalf of the world’s largest retailer
